“I knew who I was this morning, but I’ve changed a few times since then.” -Alice in Wonderland
This little lady continues to sprout up before our very eyes. She is smart and sweet and loves to play with tiny things. She surprises me with her natural ability to sketch and memorize things quickly. This springtime she has spent many hours outside playing and now has the perfect amount of freckles on her nose and cheeks.
This year has been really difficult for me, because she has almost lost her little childlike features. We still enjoy reading picture books, taking walks, and watching older movies together. She loved listening to Ann of Green Gables, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and begs to be read her Beatrix Potter books before bedtime.
She and I have been designing what her new room will be like in our new house that we are building. She has handled our move and her toys being packed up for almost a year like a champ. I’m so excited to spoil her a little bit when we are able to finally unpack our storage unit and get her special things out of boxes.
I always heard about a mother’s love for a child, but I couldn’t fully understand it until she became a part of our lives. How dull life would be without those sweet little feet running and dancing throughout our home.
Our sweet Alayna Grace has been such a blessing and I’m so thankful God allowed us to have her. I look forward to the memories we will make with her this year.
