“I must learn to be content with being happier than I deserve.”- Jane Austin, Pride and Prejudice

Each litter brings me a deep sense of joy. Not only do I spend a lot of time working with my dogs and puppies, I’ve invested a lot of time observing my lines. My daughter and I compare notes after we spend time with a litter one-on-one. We talk about how each puppy responds and how they are interacting with their siblings and to us. She picks up things that I miss and I bring to her attention personality traits I’ve observed. We’ve been observing for years.

We’ve fine tuned what our preferences are in our line and have carefully selected parental pairings that fine tune our line even further. I’m so pleased with this pairing of Bella and Porter. Now we have come to observe a fourth generation! Their puppies have delightful personalities and are absolutely gorgeous.

This line started with our dam “Millie.” She was so sweet and gentle with her puppies. It was a sad day when she reached retiring age. Each puppy was well loved by Millie and each as cute as a button! She stayed with us when she was whelping puppies, but when those puppies were whelped she went back to live with her wonderful guardian family with three teen boys who live off of Lake Norman. She loves to get on the lake at the end of the day.

Great-Grandmother “Millie”

Millie had “Gidget.” I remember when Gidget was a tiny little thing. She reminded me of a little whale with her black and white markings. She would zoom around the whelping box and hide under the railing, then come running to me when I came to play with her. I selected her out of her litter mates to continue on Millie’s wonderful line. Gidget, like her mother Millie, was a champion of a mom. We would joke that Gidget was our helicopter mom. She was always counting her puppies and vigilantly checking on them as they learned to wobble across the whelping area. We pulled a puppy from her litter to continue on our line, “Bella.” Gidget was paired with the most amazing guardian home. They own a local shop and take Gidget every morning with them into work. Gidget greets everyone at the front door with a wagging tail! Everyone loves Gidget! It was so sad when Gidget had her last litter.

Grandmother “Gidget”

But then came Bella, who we call our “Pretty Princess.” Bella is a loving and smart girl. Much like Millie and Gidget, she is a dream of a mom! Her puppies are chunky and spoiled. Bella keeps her whelping area immaculately clean and keeps tender eyes on her babies at all times. She loves to zoom around our yard when she is staying with us. We paired her with a kind guardian family who spoils her as much as she spoils her babies. We plan on selecting a puppy from one of her future litters to continue on this wonderful legacy of attentive mothers and adorable babies.

Mother “Bella”

Introducing our 4th generation of this line, meet Elizabeth, Darcy, Jane, Bingley, and Collins. They are all precious! My daughter is constantly asking to go sit in the whelping area with them throughout the day. We already have several families lined up to come hold and socialize these babies in a few weeks and a field trip to visit their grandmother Gidget. I look forward to telling you more about this special batch of puppies!
