All you need to know about volhard Temperament Testing

Temperament testing is a one-on-one test that we have every single puppy in our program take when they reach 7 weeks of age. We film the testing so each of our clients on the waitlist can have access to this data along with each puppy's completed score card. The test takes about 15 minutes to complete per puppy and allows us to categorize each puppy as an Alpha, Alpha-Beta, Beta, Solid Beta, Beta-Omega, and Omega. Most of our puppies fall within the Alpha-Beta to the Solid Beta category. This test allows families to better understand what kind of puppy they are adopting. It is also a vital test for families that are wishing to adopt a puppy with emotional, therapy, or service dog potential. Many of our puppies have gone off to accomplish wonderful things in these fields! The day after temperament testing, puppy selection begins in the order of deposits received. Its a fun day! Clients don't stress because if they get stuck on which puppy to choose, we use their puppy application as a guide to make sure we can direct them to the best puppy possible for their family and lifestyle. Once the puppy has been selected, it is locked in with that family. This test has proven to be accurate time and time again if the environment that the puppy is raised in with their family mimics the style we raise the puppies while in our care. Lots of resources and private videos for only our clients are sent home to prepare all our future families to raise obedient, confident, and well-adjusted puppies. This puppy's individual temperament testing results will be added here when the testing is completed.
